I Want to Have...

Alberto loves soccer! When the Make-A-Wish volunteers visited with Alberto he told them that his number one wish was to attend the World Cup Soccer Finals in Yokohama, Japan. His wish was not to attend just any match but the FINAL match! Over the course of a year and a half, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Louisiana office has worked on arranging Alberto's wish. They were determined to send him and his family to Japan.

We were able to send Alberto, his three siblings and their parents to the match, courtesy of MasterCard. The rest of the wish was put into place when one of our National Partners stepped in. UAW-GM generously agreed to fly all six of them to Japan and provide them with their expenses. This wish would not have been possible without the help of these two companies.

The entire family decorated their faces for the final match and loved seeing Brazil take the win. When Alberto and his family returned from their trip, all they could say was that it was "AMAZING!"

Four year old Kameron of Houma, Louisiana wished to go to the Walt Disney World Resort®! Kameron and her family stayed at Give Kids the World Village, a dream resort specially equipted for youngters with medical considerations. DisneyHand, worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, provided tickets and other perks for Kameron and her family. Kameron also got to participate in the American Airlines' Wish Flight™. 	Allison wished to have fun in an environment very different from her home town of Franklinton, Louisiana. To her, skiing, sledding, tubing and ice skating sounded like a dream come true. Make-A-Wish Foundation sent Allison to Keystone resort in Colorado for a week of snowy fun. The teen and her family enjoyed lots of outdoor activities like skiing and tubing, and was also treated to some more toasty times eating dinner at an old homestead cabin and riding in a horse-drawn sleigh. Many thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Colorado, who helped plan Allison's winter fun wish!
