Sponsor a Wish

You can make a difference in the life of a Louisiana child by becoming a wish sponsor. For a donation of $5,000 or more, businesses, individuals, and organizations may choose to sponsor a particular child's wish.

Criteria to sponsor a wish:

• A company, organization, or individual can select to sponsor a wish with a cash gift. Wish costs average $5,000.
  
  
• Selection is made from a list of pending adoptable wishes.
  
  
• Wish sponsors learn the child's first name, medical condition, parish, and child's wish.
  
  
• Sponsoring a wish establishes a direct link between the donor and the wish child.
  
  
• Occasionally, opportunities become available where the sponsoring organization can actually meet their adopted wish child in person.
  
  
• Sponsor is invited to the wish child's party, if appropriate.
  
  
• At the request of the sponsor, a press release will be issued that includes the name of the donor.
  
  
• Wish Sponsor will be recognized in the Make-A-Wish newsletter and on our chapter's web site.
  
  
• Wish sponsor will receive a recognition plaque.
  

Costs of wishes vary from child to child. In the case where the cost of a wish exceeds the donor's gift, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Louisiana will absorb the difference. In the case where the cost of a wish is less than the donor's gift, the remaining monies will be used to fund other wishes.
